Croydon Municipal Officers win Bletchingley Invitation Fours

Bletchingley Bowling Club hosted their Redhill Honda sponsored Mens invitation fours on Sunday 12th June.
The rainy weather conditions on the day were far from perfect for the competitors but the games were all completed without having to stop play.
The opening league format provided some interesting results with clear contenders for the semi-finals emerging after the morning session of bowling. The teams who eventually made it to the semi final playoffs were Croydon who played Redhill and Croydon Municipal Officers who played Chipstead.
Both semi-finals were closely contested with some excellent bowling from all four teams, the scores finishing Croydon 7 – Redhill 6 and Croydon Municipal Officers 5 – Chipstead 4.
The final between Croydon and Croydon M O was a test of the players ability to cope with the worsening weather conditions as much as their opponents good bowling and saw the Croydon M O team take an early lead, which Croydon could not recover before they ran out of ends.
